The judges on Trump’s list aren’t moderates and they would not provide an independent check on the powers of the president. Instead, they’d be rubber stamps for Trump and his agenda. During the campaign, Trump stated he would only appoint judges who would overturn Roe v. Wade, and he also signaled he'd select judges who would rule against the Affordable Care Act.

Amy Coney Barrett

The Supreme Court has now upheld the Affordable Care Act twice, but Amy Coney Barrett publicly disagreed with both decisions. She thought the law should have been overturned. If she were named to the Court, millions of Americans would be at risk of losing their health care.

Brett Kavanaugh

At a time when Trump’s threats to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller have brought us to the brink of a constitutional crisis, Judge Brett Kavanaugh has made clear he would side with Trump. Kavanaugh has said that the President should get to decide whether and when he can be investigated. He also has said a sitting President should not be able to be indicted, no matter what evidence of wrongdoing may be uncovered.

Amul Thapar

President Trump’s billionaire friends would love nothing more than to have far-right conservative Amul Thapar on the Supreme Court. He’s ruled that financial contributions are the same as speech and, on the Supreme Court, he would open the floodgates for Trump’s billionaire friends to spend an unlimited amount of money to influence elections in their favor.
